Our Rating Methodology
How we test, score, and rank cam sites — so you know our reviews are based on real experience, not guesswork.
How We Test
Every site on CamRated is tested as a paying user. We don't review from screenshots or secondhand reports. For each site we:
- Create a real account with a unique email and username
- Buy tokens or credits using real payment methods — we experience the full checkout flow, billing, and any hidden fees
- Browse extensively — public shows, categories, search, filters, mobile experience
- Tip and interact — test the tip menu system, private messages, and interactive features
- Go private — test the private show experience, per-minute billing accuracy, and video quality
- Test support — contact customer service to measure response time and helpfulness
- Review privacy features — check billing discretion, account deletion, data handling
Scoring Criteria (1-10 Scale)
Each site is scored across five weighted categories. The overall rating is a weighted average.
Model Quality & Selection (30%)
Number of models online, diversity of categories, video/stream quality, professionalism. Does the site have enough models to keep things interesting? Are streams HD or potato quality?
Pricing & Value (25%)
Token/credit cost, package value, private show rates, hidden fees. How much does a typical session actually cost? We calculate real per-minute costs, not just advertised rates.
Features & Technology (20%)
VR support, interactive toys, cam2cam, mobile streaming, search/filter quality, site speed. Does the site keep up with technology or feel abandoned?
Safety & Privacy (15%)
Payment security, discreet billing, data handling, account deletion process, model verification systems. Can you use the site without compromising your privacy?
User Experience (10%)
Interface design, mobile experience, account management, customer support quality. Is the site pleasant to use or does it fight you at every step?
How Rankings Work
Our rankings are determined by the weighted scores above. Sites cannot pay for better placement — period. Our top picks earn their spots through real quality.
Rankings are re-evaluated monthly. Prices change, features launch, and sites improve (or decline). We update reviews when meaningful changes happen — not on an arbitrary calendar.
What We Don't Do
- ✗ Paid placements. Sites can't buy their way to the top. No sponsored positions, no "featured" slots for money.
- ✗ Paid reviews. We don't accept payment to write positive reviews. Our opinions are our own.
- ✗ Review without testing. We don't publish reviews based on other people's experiences or site marketing materials.
- ✗ Hide negative information. If a site has flaws, we say so. Cons are listed honestly alongside pros.
Updates & Corrections
We re-check reviews at least monthly. If you spot an error, outdated pricing, or something that doesn't match your experience, tell us. We investigate and correct verified errors promptly.
